This book is a Hindi translation of Sri Aurobindo’s book “Hymns to the Mystic Fire’. It is a collection of all the Rig Vedic mantras addressed to Agni Deva, and also contains several essays by Sri Aurobindo — The Doctrine of the Mystics, one on Agni Deva, and various others elucidating the mantras of the various Rishis.
The author would like the Hindi speaking scholars to relook at the Vedas through the eyes of Sri Aurobindo, understand the inner meaning, the predominant psychological meaning of the Vedas as revealed by him, and widen their understanding of this very ancient anthology of sacred poems so that they may be given their rightful place beyond that of merely being ritualistic incantations for material fulfillment.
